Why there is a paid plan at all
A dedicated machine collects ladder snapshots for all 236 ranked Pokemon every day, in both formats, and the result is cleaned, checked and published. The website, the daily meta trends and the public API are free and stay free, with no advertising and nothing sold on.
Pro subscriptions are the only thing paying for that. It is also why the free version is not deliberately limited. The point is not to squeeze people into upgrading; it is that the heavy features cost real computing time to run.
