Pokemon Champions Solver
A Pokemon Champions solver: recreate any battle position and play it out thousands of times, with both sides choosing at once, to find the move that really comes out ahead.
The Solver takes one position -- both sides, their sets, how much HP everyone has left, the weather, terrain, Trick Room and Tailwind -- and plays it out thousands of times. Both sides choose at the same time and neither sees the other's choice, which is how the game works, and the best move is whatever comes out ahead across those lines.
It is the same family of search a Poker Solver or a Chess Engine uses, and it suits Pokemon because Pokemon is a combination of Chess, Poker and Rock / Paper / Scissors. It is not an AI being asked for an opinion: every number it prints is a count of lines that were really played, which is why the answer sharpens the longer it runs.
What it is for
- Replaying a turn you lost, to see what the better line was.
- Pricing a Protect, a switch or a redirection against what the opponent could do.
- Finding out whether a position is as bad as it felt: the board's own score says who it favours.
Three complete searches are free. After that it asks for Pro, which also covers unlimited team rating, Auto Build and Test against Tournament Teams, here and in the Companion app.
